St. Luke’s Children’s Ministry is a thriving program where kids, with the guidance of loving and caring adults, take their first steps on their faith journey.
We offer a Nursery for ages 0-3 every Sunday during both worship services. Having grown up in the church and worked in our Child Development Center, our experienced nursery staff love watching little ones. They read a Children’s Bible story and do an activity in addition to playing games.
Our Sunday School program is growing and thriving! Using the Hands-On Bible curriculum, kids do age-appropriate activities and games while learning how to read the Bible and to talk about its lessons. Sunday School is offered 9:00-9:50, during the first worship service.
We offer Sunday School for the following grades:
Every September or October, we celebrate Bible Sunday by presenting engraved Hands-On Bibles to our 3rd Graders (and anyone up to 6th Grade who needs one). Then we have a fun Bible Scavenger Hunt, where were we learn how to use our Bibles to read scripture as clues, leading us all over the church.
In the fall, the pastors host a special 3-part class on communion for our 1st and 2nd Graders, with a special communion for them and their families. In the spring, they do a special series on baptism.
In December, we have a great, everyone-has-a-role Christmas play during the first service, followed by a party. In the spring, we have a special Easter event.
For a week in July, we join Hanscom Park UMC for Vacation Bible School. This fun event is a great way to meet other kids while we have fun growing closer to God through games and lessons. It’s fantastic fun!
