St. Luke’s Children’s Ministry is a thriving program where kids, with the guidance of loving and caring adults, take their first steps on their faith journey.
We offer a Nursery for ages 0-3 every Sunday during both worship services. Having grown up in the church and worked in our Child Development Center, our experienced nursery staff love watching little ones. They read a Children’s Bible story and do an activity in addition to playing games.
Our Sunday School program is growing and thriving! Using the Hands-On Bible curriculum, kids do age-appropriate activities and games while learning how to read the Bible and to talk about its lessons. Sunday School is offered 9:20-10:00 a.m. for the following grades:
Sunday School for Youth is offered from 9:45-10:25 a.m. between worship services. Youth are divided into the following classes:
Every September or October, we celebrate Bible Sunday by presenting engraved Hands-On Bibles to our 3rd Graders (and anyone up to 6th Grade who needs one). Then we have a fun Bible Scavenger Hunt, where were we learn how to use our Bibles to read scripture as clues, leading us all over the church.
In the fall, the pastor will teach about communion in the Children’s Sermon in the worship services. In the spring, we will do a special series on baptism for the children.
In December, we have a great, everyone-has-a-role Christmas play during the first service, followed by a party. In the spring, we have a special Easter event.
For a week in July, we join Hanscom Park UMC for Vacation Bible School. This fun event is a great way to meet other kids while we have fun growing closer to God through games and lessons. It’s fantastic fun!
