We are a unique collaborative effort between St Luke, Burke High School, Nebraska Methodist College and numerous community partners. We work to help teens discover and pursue their potential while working toward self-sufficiency. Our programming includes academic assistance, post-secondary preparedness, alumni services, health and wellness, alumni support, and student and family support services.

Academic Assistance

We move students from D’s and F’s to A’s and B’s. This cornerstone program builds both confidence and skill within our students. The services we provide are critical to high school graduation and post-secondary enrollment. Some of the services include: tutoring, academic electives, incentives, and access to technology, schoolbooks, school supplies and other resources.

Post-Secondary Preparedness

Higher education is the pathway out of poverty. Yet understanding and navigating the system, rising costs and a lack of financial assistance limit the opportunities for our teens to pursue higher education. We work to create a pathway for college enrollment and success for those who are traditionally under-represented in post-secondary education. Some of the services include: ACT Prep, ACT Pump Up Event, Junior and Senior Seminar, College Visits, Scholarship Retreat, Scholarships and Graduation Party.

Health & Wellness

Many children in this generation will not outlive their parents. With increasing health issues rising in our young people, we work to keep our young people healthy, active, and educated through our programming. Some of the provided services include: Let’s Talk About It (Sexual Decision Making), Cooking Classes, Open Gym and Get Active electives.

Alumni Support Services

College is scary. The culture shock is even scarier if you are the first in your family. As our students graduate and continue to pursue their academic and career goals, the need for assistance continues. We engage many of our students through post-secondary and beyond with the following services: Mentoring, Academic/Career Counseling, Alumni Events and General Assistance.

Student/Family Services

Our students are only as strong as their support system. These services are aimed at our students while including the whole family. Some of the services provided include: Food Program, Tax Prep/FAFSA Event, Holiday Assistance and Community Counseling Program.
