Development Center is currently looking for a full-time Staff Coordinator.
Salary will be dependent upon experience. Full-time benefits available.
St. Luke has a reputation of offering
outstanding child care programs to Omaha families since 1964. St. Luke
Child Development Center is a member of the Better Business Bureau. Child
care classrooms are broken down into approximate six-month age groups to
enhance age-appropriate activities. St. Luke provides care for children
age 6 weeks through age 12. We provide care for 175+ children every
Must hold an Associate Degree in Early
Childhood Education, Education or Child/Youth Development. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Must have at least two years’ experience
working in an early childhood group setting.
Must have ability to supervise and train
Must have a high level of dependability, a
high level of confidentiality, ability to complete tasks on time, ability to be
flexible and to adapt at all times, demonstrate willingness to undertake
additional responsibilities, work harmoniously with others.
Must exhibit excellent communication skills,
and possess good interpersonal skills.

Requirements & Working Conditions
With a capacity of 235 children, our Center is active every
weekday. The Staff Coordinator is a very
hands-on position as he/she supervises children, classrooms and teachers at all
times to ensure safety and maintaining ratios.
Because the Staff Coordinator will at times have to work in classrooms,
he/she needs to be able to be physically able to care for and to interact with
the children. The Staff Coordinator will
also need to be able to keep the environment safe and clean and to follow all
safety and health rules of our Center.
Work under the
Director to perform the following:
Once a month walk facility to complete room
check for state licensing requirements and Step-up to Quality
Communicate information about children to
director and assistant director regarding health, safety, problems, etc.
Prepare illness notices for classrooms
Clerical support to teachers as needed (making
copies, filing lesson plans, etc.)
Available to staff classrooms as needed
(possibly help with break/ or day coverage)
Assist with updating staff bios by classroom
Assist with staff orientation and training in
Assist with staff meetings
Track employee in-service hours
Follow-up to make sure employees have updated
info with Step up to Quality
Supervision and/or observation in every
classroom 20 minutes every other day—this will include either model teaching
for the classroom teacher or observing for documentation purposes
Maintain written monthly observational for
Assist with employee annual evaluations
Follow St. Luke policies according to the
Employee Manual, Operations Handbook, and other printed material. Is knowledgeable about the State’s “Child Care
Center Regulations” Handbook.
Maintain certification in first aid and CPR
and attend a minimum of 12 clock hours of in-service training per year
Perform other related duties as requested

south of Dodge. (We are across the street and east of Burke High
School.) The Child Development Center office is located inside the north
