Book: The Gift of Years” by Joan Chittister
When & where? Tuesdays, November 20-December 11, 7:00-8:30 p.m., Great Room
Like it or not, we’re all getting older. Some of us seem to do it more gracefully than others. Some seem to have more challenges. Some seem more accepting of our limitations. Some seem to embrace the future with more energy than others. And some days we just seem stuck.
While growing older is a biological reality, the spiritual dimension of aging may be most important of all. Where do we find meaning when everything seems to be changing? Do we have time to mend the broken relationships that cry out for healing? What does it even mean to “believe” or have “faith” when all around us is struggle and suffering?
You are invited to this Tuesday evening study to explore these and other issues related to spirituality and aging. We will use the book The Gift of Years by Joan Chittister. Additional essays by Parker Palmer will be provided.
All are invited—you don’t need to be “of a certain age.” It will be important for each person to have access to a copy of the book.
If you plan to participate, please RSVP to the Church Office at firstname.lastname@example.org or 402-333-6886 ext. 300. (Do let us know if you plan to attend. Some of us, as we age, don’t drive at night—and so we will try to provide assistance if that is a concern.)
