Love Your Neighbor!
United Methodist Church
The St. Luke staff invites you to join us in a challenge to spread kindness and love to others in the weeks following the election. At this time, when so much of our community and our country (and even our social circles) feels divided, we want our church to spread kindness and show love to people whose paths we cross every day.
Although we all have differing opinions, at the heart of everything we are all human and every one of us (regardless of our opinions) is deserving of kindness and respect.
We ask that you join us in spreading kindness and showing love to our community in the following ways:
Each week we will send out an email image that encourages us to show love and kindness during this election season. We encourage you to share it with others.
Look for ways each day that you can do random acts of kindness to people you cross paths with. Below are some ideas for random acts of kindness:
Give someone a compliment
Open a door for someone
Smile at every person you see today
Do something special for someone you live or work with
Buy cookies or donuts for your neighbor
Start a meeting with a round table of celebrations and gratitude
Volunteer in your community
Donate food or money to St. Luke’s ongoing food drive
Forgive someone you have had issues with in the past
Thank someone in your life you may have taken for granted
Take a break from all digital devices for a day
Buy coffee for the person behind you in the drive-through lane
Post a “spread kindness” message on your Facebook page or leave an inspiring message somewhere in your workplace or in the community for others to randomly discover
Pick up litter in your neighborhood or park

Please help us make a difference for our co-workers, neighbors and community…Love your neighbor and spread kindness!
